Commemorative coin and postage stamp for 100 years Bulgarian cinema

The Bulgarian National Bank joined the celebrations for the anniversary of Bulgarian cinema with the release of a commemorative coin . The coin has a nominal value of 10 lev with an issue of 3000 copies. The silver from which it is made has a grade of 925/1000. The authors of the artistic design are Plamen Chernev and Evgenia Tsankova. The obverse of the coin has a built-in medallion, which depicts a movie reel. On the reverse side of the coin there is a movie camera engraved and the inscription “100 years” in which zeros represent film rolls above the words “Bulgarian cinema.” The post stamp was designed by prof. Georgi Yankov and has a circulation of 11,000 copies.

Sofia creative city cinema UNESCO

On 01.12.2014, Sofia joins the network of creative cities of UNESCO, and was awarded the title "City of Film". The certificate was presented by the Director General of the International Organisation Mrs. Irina Bokova, the Mayor of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandoukova
